| Summary | 0001348: Do test for GTVS beta program. | ||||
| Description | SKB wants to do beta GTVS. =============================> Android TV GTVS Beta Program Goals: We are providing partners an early release of Android TV GTVS apps to improve the quality of the Android TV experience for users. We recommend partners test the apps on a regular basis and report issues to TAMs. Privacy: The early preview of apps that you have access to under this program are covered under the NDA you already have with Google. You are not allowed to share information or screenshots to those outside of the NDA. What do I need to do? Please fill out this form with your @gmail.com and corporate email addresses. After you fill out the form, your @gmail.com email address will be added to the GTVS Beta program and you will receive a welcome email with a set of links to opt-in to each app. You will receive beta versions of Android TV apps on a continuous basis for applications you choose to test. You can also opt-out of a specific application by visiting the same link and leaving the beta for that application. What applications are included? Please sign up for the applications below: Android TV Remote Service Android TV Leanback Launcher Google Search / Assistant for Android TV (Katniss) Google Cast Receiver YouTube for Android TV YouTube Kids for Android TV GMS Core (Google Play services) Webview I want to report an issue with an app: Please report the app issue to your assigned TAM via issue tracker. They will manage and escalate issues to the right team internally. You should include a description of what the issue is, a bug report, how to replicate the behavior, the device model, how the issue impacts the user experience, and a recommended solution if you have one. Feature requests sent to TAMs or via the built-in app feedback channel will be IP owned by Google. What if I want to exit the beta program? Please send an email listing the email addresses to be removed to your assigned TAM. The TAM will then remove the provided email addresses from the beta channel group. Will I receive release notes or other information for when to test an app? We cannot guarantee release notes will be available for when to test an app. How do I know what to test with an app release? We recommend testing the app as a normal end user would. Most users will not read release notes or have instructions on what specific features to test. We may on occasion provide a guide on what to test depending on the app and planned changes for the app, however this will be rare. How often are new versions of an app released? We cannot provide well defined timelines as each app has a different release cycle and different scope of changes. Should I notify anyone after I finish testing a new app? You do not need to notify anyone. As a best practice, you can inform your TAM that you have completed testing a new app. | ||||
